No selfie for you as they’re banned by Apple at WWDC 2015

Yes you read the title correctly. In a strange change to the WWDC rules selfie sticks are now banned.wwdc15-og

Don’t worry though as standard photography using a phone or small cameras is still allowed. However if this involves any sort of monopod, selfie stick like device you do risk being banned from the event. This also goes for making audio/video recordings or using professional photo equipment as some developers have found out recently.

As stated in the event rules:

“You are not permitted to make audio or audiovisual recordings of WWDC or take professional photographic or video equipment, or wearable recording devices into Moscone West or Yerba Buena Gardens,”  and “In addition, you may not use selfie sticks or similar monopods within Moscone West or Yerba Buena Gardens,”.

Thank you to Times of India for letting us know about this rather unusual story.
